M Plumridge Antiques Launches 25 September 2022

This weekend sees the launch of our new Antique Arms & Armour business, M Plumridge Antiques. The company has been born out of a desire to bring the excitement of collecting Antique Arms to new generation of collectors. Having grown up with computers and the internet, I have long been frustrated with how little information and knowledge of Antique Arms & Armour is available online. I have often found myself having to purchase dozens of out-of-print books just to identify an item. This lack of online knowledge has long served as a barrier to entry for many young potential collectors, we aim to change that.

Going forward, we intend to document our collection and make the knowledge available to everyone online. We will shortly be starting a YouTube channel to share the knowledge and history of every item that we acquire. We also aim to produce the highest possible quality of photography on our website to show our collection in the best possible light to any potential collectors. All too often the quality of photography found online leaves a lot to be desired, we hope to change that, and in so doing, bring in a new generation of collectors who have grown up expecting high quality photography and video.

Whilst we are predominantly an online business, we understand that many customers like to be able to view items in person prior to purchase. As such, the majority of our collection will be on display (as of 25/9/22) and available to view 7 days a week in Great Grooms Antiques Centre in Hungerford, Berkshire. Centrally located, a short drive from the M4 in Southern England, we believe that this provides an excellent location for everyone to view the collection. For those who do choose to visit, items can be paid for in store and taken with you on the day of your visit.
